EVENT DESCRIPTION

Century - This is the ride for which the Santa Fe Century is named and famed! It is designed for the amateur citizen rider, as well as the fast rider, who is in good shape and has trained for the event. These riders look at the ride as a challenge both in distance and elevation changes. It is a mental as well as a physical challenge. Riders must obey all traffic laws as roads will remain open to cars throughout the route. This includes stopping at traffic lights and stops signs unless being waved through by police during the escorted start.

Gran Fondo - Would you like to challenge yourself against the clock and others in your age bracket? The Gran Fondo route is the same as that of the Santa Fe Century until the right turn onto Two Trails Road. The timing finish is on Two Trails Road, 99 miles from the start. To return to the start, take a u-turn after the timed finish to return to the Century route. Check below to the full description of the course. This will be a timed group-start event. Participants should be comfortable riding in a group.

Half Century - This ride is great for cyclists of moderate ability. If you have done some 20-25 mile rides, you might surprise yourself at your ability to now do a Half-Century! The camaraderie and support of the other cyclists will encourage you. Many riders are occasional weekend cyclists. But because it is 50 miles and does require some endurance, doing some training rides prior to the event will add to your confidence and ability. The total elevation gain is 2,485 feet. A large part of the ride is on rural roads with little car traffic. There are rolling hills and glorious picturesque views, like scenes from old western movies. It also includes a rest stop in the charming historic village of Galisteo, where the locals turn out to offer their support at the Galisteo food stop

Medio Fondo - Are you up for a challenging and fast paced ride? This is a timed ride that follows the same route as the Half-Century until the right turn onto Two Trails Road for the finish, which is 47 miles from the start. To return to the start, take a u-turn after the timed finish to return to the Century route. Check below  the full description of the course. This will be a timed group-start event. Participants should be comfortable riding in a group.
